Job summary:

ZA CAFÉ has been in operation since April 2014. They are seeking a pizza maker experienced in Neapolitan pizzas. We are planning to expand our operation and therefore seek the services of an experienced Head Chef.

Job description:

The position has Medical benefits included.

At least 3 years to 5 years experience as a head chef with Italian cuisine.

Ability to Supervise 3 to 4 people.

Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Overtime required, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads.

• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Create new recipes; Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets; Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food; Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• Manage a busy kitchen, supervise activities of all kitchen staff
• Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labour costs
• Recruit and hire kitchen staff, organise shifts
• Assist in training staff in food preparation and cooking
