Job description:
Salary: $36.10 per hour for 32-42 hours per week
Terms of Employment: Day, Full Time, Permanent
Location: 129 King Street, St. Catharines, ON
Education: Degrees in both Human Resources and Accounting
Experience: 3 years or more in a combination of Human Resources and Accounting
Job Duties:
- Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies
- Advise employer and employee on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs and collective agreements
- Negotiate benefits and agreements on behalf of employers and employees, mediate labour disputes and grievances and provide advice on employee and labour relations
- Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, salary scales and competency appraisal measures and systems
- Plan and administer staffing, total compensation, training and career development, employee assistance, employment equity and affirmative action programs
- Manage programs and maintain human resources information and related records systems
- Hire and oversee training of staff
- Co-ordinate employee performance appraisal programs
- Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies
- Facilitate managing the people as one of the resources of the organization
- Help the management for making decision about acquiring, allocating, developing and maintaining human resources in order to keep control on human resource cost as one of the organizational objective
- Provide information to the management regarding human resource cost and value
- See whether the human resources are effectively utilized or not
- See whether the human resources are producing a return on investment of the persons interested in the organization or not
- Provide human resources accounting detail to outsiders like financers such as bankers, financial institutions and creditors etc.
