Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificateor equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Security and Safety: Medical exam, Criminal record check, Reference required

Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding

Work Location Information: Work in employer's/client's home, Room and board provided, Relocation costs covered by employer

Additional Skills: Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties

Children's Ages: Toddler to pre-school (1 - 3 years), School age (6 - 12 years)

Specific Skills: Bathe, dress and feed infants and children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Prepare infants and children for rest periods, Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Supervise and care for children. Light housekeeping involve such as vacuuming, toilet cleaning, dusting. Tidying up after the children. 

Target Audience: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children

Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Work Setting: Employer's home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate
