Job description:
Chohan Freight Forwarders Ltd. a well-known transportation company based at 26116 31B Avenue, Langley, BC – V4W 2Z6 is looking for 20 Full-time, permanent Long-Haul Truck Drivers (NOC: 7411/7511) to join their company to operate their trucks all over Canada & USA.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of High School is required.
- No experience required. On job training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of English.
Note: Any further Higher Education or previous related experience would be considered an asset.
License: Must have class 1, A or equivalent driving license or eligible to obtain the same. Air brake endorsement (Z) is required
Work Locations: Various locations all over Canada and USA depending upon the business contracts and orders.
Compensation & Wages:
- $27.00/hr for 50 Hours per week + 4% Vacation pay on each schedule pay cheque
- 5 Days of Sick leave per year
- Other Benefits as per BC Employment Standard Act
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to operate and drive Flat Deck trucks to transport the required goods or materials to their destination.
- Perform pre- trip, end-route and post trip inspection of vehicle
- Loading and unloading of cargo
- Make sure all safety procedures are being followed for transportation of goods
- Ensure safety and security of cargo.
- Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
- Perform roadside repairs if required.
- Able to drive independently or in team of two-person
- Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption
