Position: Cleaner (NOC: 6731) - 1 vacancy

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime

Salary: $17.00

Skill Requirements: Time management, punctuality, communication, working with others, attention to detail, planning.

Education/Credentials: Not required

Experience: Experience as a  cleaner or similar occupation (custodian/janitor/building caretaker/housekeeper) is an asset (not mandatory)

Job description:

•            Sweep, mop, wash, wax and polish floors

•            Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture

•            Make beds, change sheets and distribute clean towels and toiletries

•            Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies

•            Stock linen closets and other supplies' areas

•            Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

•            Clean and disinfect public areas such as changing rooms, showers and elevators

•            Pick up debris and empty trash containers

•            Transports trash and waste to appropriate disposal area

•            Wash windows, walls and ceilings

•            Report safety hazards to the direct supervisor and head office

•            Replenish supplies in those areas where it is required

•            Follow all infection control practices in those core areas as defined by the company

•            Clean and maintain carpet and tiled floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip and wax floors on a rotating basis.

 

Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, involves standing for long periods of time as well as bending, crouching and kneeling, repetitive tasks

 

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

 

Transportation/Travel Information: Access to public transportation or motor vehicle is required

 

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

 

Work Conditions: Physically-demanding work, hands-on, standing, moving, kneeling and bending for entire duration of shift, various locations (commercial, private)

Job Summary

Under general direction of the company or site supervisor, cleans and maintains all areas of the facility by performing routine cleaning as prescribed by the cleaning schedule and job routine. Areas include but not limited to lobbies, pool area, washrooms, common areas, exercise areas, elevators, stairwells, parades, and the like. The cleaner will demonstrate their ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to established procedures and protocols.

2.Provides a high degree of customer service interaction for residents, visitors, skilled trades, property management, council, and the like.
