Job Duties:
- Creates genuine human connections by focusing on service and keeping pets and pet owners their top priority
- Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively seeking out solutions to meet the pets’ needs
- Works exclusively with veterinarians and pet owners to make treating and giving medications to pets easier
Works closely with pharmacists in pets compounding
- Works on a team to fulfill prescription orders using SIG codes and pharmacy calculations
- Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA), regulations (e.g., OSHA), professional standards, and ethical principles
- Complies with RBVH policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and protect patient privacy and security
- Proficient with computer data entry and pick up/delivery schedule
- Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment
- Actively seeks opportunities to expand clinical, technical knowledge
- Ability to work a schedule which includes weekends and evenings, holidays & on-call shifts
- Assists with ordering, receiving and inventory of pharmacy stock
- Manages refills including processing, mailing, faxing or e-scripting and billing
- Handle all online chats, emails and phone calls.
- Other duties as assigned to assist the Pharmacists.
Skills Requirements
- Completion of College degree chemistry, pharmacy related industry is preferred
- Sterile Compounding experience, having a Certification on Sterile Compounding in Canada is an asset
- With minimum one year of pharmacy assistant experience
- Possess strong communication skills
- Be able to communicate in English. (be able to speak French and any second language other than English is an asset)
