Bus Driver - Windermere Care Centre

Pro Vita is looking for Bus Driver for one day a week in Vancouver with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in various Long Term Care, Assisted Living and Mental Health Facilities around British Columbia.

Bus Driver Position:

• Casual, as needed for a minimum of 2 days a week , 1pm-5pm

Bus Driver Responsibilities:

• Arrives to site locations punctually & safely,
• Assists residents with loading onto & off of vehicle safely, following Pro Vita policies,
• Ensure all residents are safely strapped in either via seatbelts or straps for mobility devices such as Scooters &/or Wheelchairs,
• Drives residents to pre-determined locations following scheduled outings,
• Responsible for completing and managing vehicle inspections, identifying repairs needed & any Trip Logs required by the facility,
• Responsible for immediately notifying facility’s leadership of any accident, damage, personal injury or behavioral incidents during outings with residents or vehicle,
• Follows infection protocols as per Pro Vita policies.

Bus Driver Must Haves:

• Holds and Maintains a Valid Unrestricted Class 4 BC driver’s license, as applicable to care home needs,
• Clean drivers abstract,
• 1 year experience of driving commercial vehicles,
• Familiar with working with Seniors, specifically with dementia,
• Physical ability to bend down & stand up repeatedly,
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English both verbal and written,
• Maintains and Complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter,
• Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
