Cook - 2 vacancies (NOC: 6322)

Employer: Balkan House Restaurant

Address:  7530 Edmonds Street, Burnaby, British Columbia, V3N 1B4

Main duties:

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, monitor and order supplies

• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers

• Oversee kitchen operations

• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

• Clean kitchen and work area

• Hire and train kitchen staff

Essential skills: Oral communication, problem solving, decision making

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time – 40 hr/weekly

Benefits: CPP, WCB, EI

Salary:  $16.25 to $20.25 hourly, depending on experience, minimum 40 hours per week with potential of overtime

Location:  7530 Edmonds Street, Burnaby, British Columbia, V3N 1B4

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: Not required

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Not applicable, Not required

Experience:  Experience as a cook is an asset

Language: English (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian Language an asset)

Physical Capabilities: Weight Handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
