Work Location: Various location across Lower Mainland
Job Title: Construction Trade Helper
Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, Full-time/ Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Wage: $20.00-$24.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
No of Positions: 7
Job Duties:
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as plaster, grout, concrete, cement etc.
- Operate various hand tools such as power saw, power drills, power sanders, power hammers, etc.
- Assist tradespersons such as drillers, cement finishers and heavy equipment operators in construction activities.
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
- Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors, and pumps
- Assist in installing, repairing, and servicing exterior products
- Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
- Sort and pile salvaged materials and ensure materials a separated appropriately to clean up and either be recycled or for the waste
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Education: No formal education required. Trade certificate/ or working towards Red Seal certification in construction is considered an asset.
Experience: No formal experience required.Construction experience will be considered an asset.Successful candidate will be provided training.
Language: Basic English
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive Tasks, physically demanding, Handling Heavy loads, requires lifting, pulling, and carrying of equipment and other objects, Standing for long period of time.
Personal Suitability:
- Ability to work in confined spaces, as well as high height levels.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be mobile and willing to travel to various job sites within lower mainland.
