Job Responsibilities
Responsible for handling lighter, special purpose trucks, loading and unloading of goods.
Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
Keep a log of the activities. Deliver material to destinations, unload materials and complete paperwork.
Obtain special permits and other documents as required on the specified routes.
Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
Inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
Adhere to laws on commercial vehicle operation as per Federal, State and local authorities.
Inspect the trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects found; perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, deliver them as instructed, pay and receive payments for goods.
Professionalism in customer service, arrange travel related itineraries and make reservations.
Perform preventive maintenance, run ratchet straps and chains and binders to secure load to trailer.
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
Report maintenance/ mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
Qualification
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
No experience required, will train.
Dependable, hardworking, punctual, and reliable.
Can manage vehicle type like Flatbed, Logging, highway, Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer.
Able to handling heavy load, Attention to detail, Sitting, Large workload
Requires the ability to read, write, communicate in English
AZ license is required or Equivalent
Knowledge of tools & equipment based on assigned store's fleet.
Should understand documentation such as accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, trip reports.
