Title: Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC: 7511)

Employer: Agile Transport Ltd, #202 - 4603 Hazel Street, Burnaby, B.C., V5H 4N1

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: $27.00 to $32.00 hourly, depending on experience, minimum 40 hours per week with potential for 60 hours weekly 

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Burnaby, BC

Education: Not required

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):  Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

Experience: Experience is an asset

Languages: English, Serbian an asset.

Job description:

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or single. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.

Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Type of Travel: Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, International Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports.

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Transportation/Travel Information: Must be able to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods.

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance- Up to date : Claim history letter, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test Work Conditions  

Work Location Information: Various locations: Canada and US
