ethnic Balkan delicatessen meat production and bakery
Baker, specialty foods, needed for Mediterranean (Balkan) delicatessen.
Salary $23.00/h, permanent full -time 40 - 44 hours per week
Job requirements: 3-5 years of experience, ability, knowledge and experience in baking traditional Mediterranean (Balkan) breads and pastries including burek (layered cheese or meat pie) personal suitability: dependability, team player, reliability.
Duties: prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to Mediterranean recipes or special customer orders, baking traditional pastries such as “lepinja” buns (ala naan bread ), gibanica, pogacica, kolac, pita and burek (layered cheese/meat pie), frost and decorate cakes and baked goods, making from scratch mostly by hand or with some mixing machines, prepare batters, doughs, fillings, bake mixed dough and batters, draw up production schedules, ensure that the quality of products meets established standards, inspect kitchen and food service areas, operate machinery, prepare garnishes as needed for baked goods, maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration, keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products, follow up hygiene and safety procedures.
