Job Description:
2323722 Alberta Ltd. o/a Hong Kong Restaurant is looking for a dedicated and organized Food Service Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating staff activities, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and supporting efficient kitchen and front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the activities of food service staff engaged in preparing, portioning, and serving meals to ensure consistent quality and efficiency during all shifts.
2. Establish effective work methods and schedules to meet daily operational needs and accommodate peak business periods while ensuring optimal staff deployment.
3. Participate in the planning and requisition of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies, ensuring sufficient inventory levels and timely replenishment to support uninterrupted service.
4. Train new and existing employees in their job duties, emphasizing proper food handling, sanitation practices, safety procedures, and customer service excellence.
5. Estimate the quantity of ingredients and other supplies required for meal preparation based on menu planning and customer demand forecasts to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
6. Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and service areas to verify that hygiene, quality, and portion control standards are met according to company and health regulations.
7. Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction.
8. Supervise and check the assembly and presentation of meal trays and take-out orders to ensure accuracy, appearance, and quality before serving.
9. Maintain accurate records of stock levels, food and equipment usage, sales, staff attendance, and wastage; prepare and submit operational and performance reports as required by management.
10. Participate in the recruitment and selection of food service staff by identifying staffing needs, interviewing candidates, and assisting with onboarding processes.
11. Collaborate with management in implementing menu changes, promotions, and service improvements to enhance the dining experience and operational efficiency.
12. Ensure all employees comply with workplace safety and sanitation guidelines, promoting a clean, organized, and cooperative working environment.

Job Requirements:
1. Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
2. At least 7 months to 1 year in food service or supervisory role is preferred
3. The position requires working in a fast-paced, high-demand restaurant environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and managing multiple priorities under pressure. Attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to adapt to changing demands are key to succeeding in this role.
4. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to lead by example. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a customer-oriented attitude, and the ability to motivate and support a team are essential. Initiative, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining operational excellence and food safety standards are critical qualities for this position.
