ASO Specialist / Product Graphic Designer

As part of the Product Management team, and working in close collaboration with the production, game design, marketing, and analytics teams, the candidate will analyze metrics, conduct research, create content, and implement strategies to optimize the app store listings and promote evolution for a portfolio of social freemium games.

 

The candidate must be familiar with app store optimization principles, strategies, testing methods, and best practices, including: ways to improve visibility, boost app rankings, optimize keywords and copy, increase conversion rates, create awareness, assist with user acquisition initiatives, and maximize downloads.

 

The candidate must also be knowledgeable about marketing and graphic design principles, techniques, following brand guidelines, testing strategies, and best practices. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software, with a portfolio of high-quality professional design work.

 

The best candidate will be digital games trend-savvy and an active user on at least one social media platform, have solid writing, proofreading, and reporting skills, possess a problem-solver mentality, and eagerness to learn new skills or step out of his or her comfort zone. All members of the Product Management team participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute ideas, and take pride in the success of Magmic products.

 

The ASO Specialist / Product Graphic Designer will report to the Senior Product Manager and the VP, Games.

 

Responsibilities:

 

ASO Specialist:

  • Review and analyze the app store presence of existing and upcoming titles

  • Develop an ASO strategy for each product to improve in all areas

  • Present the ASO strategy to internal teams, along with research and metrics to back up recommendations

  • Develop creative for A/B testing and optimization, including icons, screenshots, splash images, copy, keywords, and more

  • Communicate requirements of the ASO strategy to internal teams for execution: creating and assigning tasks as needed

  • Implement tests and updates into the iTunes and Google Play stores

  • Iterate on results from optimization efforts and tests, as well as feedback from internal teams

  • Contribute to the development of all app store assets in preparation for launch of new titles

  • Maintain a log of all ongoing, completed, and upcoming ASO efforts

  • Establish a reporting structure to demonstrate efforts and results, and present reports to internal teams

  • Develop creative and provide input into user acquisition efforts and optimization, ensuring a strong link between UA and app store listings

 

Graphic Designer:

  • Meet with Senior Product Manager to determine the scope of a project

  • Advise on strategies to reach a particular audience

  • Provide recommendations for future content and initiatives

  • Benchmark and monitor competitors and industry leaders to identify and apply best practices, and improve the overall strategy

  • Evaluate performance metrics and incorporate insights into new iterations of existing creative, as    well as future creative

  • Determine the message the design should portray

  • Create images that identify a product or convey a message, according to project requirements and adhering to brand guidelines

  • Develop graphics and visual product illustrations, logos, and websites

  • Create designs either by hand or using computer software packages

  • Select colors, images, text style, and layout

  • Identify elements for A/B testing and present options

  • Review designs for errors, and to ensure compliance with project requirements

  • Present the design to Senior Product Manager

  • Interpret feedback, and incorporate changes recommended by Senior Product Manager
