Position Summary

Imagination Station Childcare Centre is seeking a highly motivated Early Childhood Educator (E.C.E.).  This role requires the development and implementation of child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children as well as observing and guiding the development of behaviours and habits.

Job Title: Early Childhood Educator (E.C.E)

Salary: $18.00 per hour for 30-40 hours per week

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Language: English

Start Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Vacation: 4% of gross salary in lieu of vacation time

Work Location: Langley

Employment conditions: Must be available for early morning, morning, and day shifts; work involves bending, crouching, kneeling and repetitive tasks.

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate

Security: We require a criminal record check

Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant work experience

Job Description

• Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
• Establish guidelines for behaviour and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children with parents/guardians and other staff members
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
