Established in 1997, Jroberts Manufacturing is a leading Canadian precision machining fabricator, and a manufacturer, in-service support and maintenance, repair & overhaul provider. Jroberts Manufacturing produces parts for various industries including: transportation, military, defense, construction, material handling oil & gas, mining, food and beverage, medical, electronics and others. 

Constantly growing and always looking for outstanding talents, we are now searching for an Electrician. The right candidate will join our team of professionals who are specialized in transportation and commuting, providing long-term parts and service solutions to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems for streetcars and subway cars
• Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures (such as MP lights)
• Maintain, repair, test and connect power to subway escalators and escalator gear box
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components,
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance,
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, starters, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors,
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems,
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices, Interpret electrical code specifications,
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records,
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations

Requirements:

•       At least 5 years of experience as an Electrician

•       Two or more years of experience in manufacturing and maintenance of lighting and wiring for public transport and subway

•       Able to work independently with limited supervision

•       Great attention to detail

•       Steel-toed safety shoes

•      Bondable, basic security clearance

Compensation and Conditions:

• $33.50 per hour
• 40-hour work week
• Overtime hourly rate of 48.75 will apply after 44 hours/week
• Location of work: 46 Haist Ave, Woodbridge, ON L4L 5V4
