Position Summary

North Fleetwood Montessori School is seeking a highly motivated Early Childhood Educator (E.C.E.).  This role requires the development and implementation of child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children as well as observing and guiding the development of behaviours and habits.

 

Job Detail

Job Title: Early Childhood Education Worker (E.C.E)

Positions Available: 2

Salary: $19.00 per hour for 40 hours per week

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Language: English

Start Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Vacation: 4% of gross salary in lieu of vacation time

Work Location: Surrey

Employment conditions: Must be available for early morning, morning, and day shifts; work involves bending, crouching, kneeling and repetitive tasks.

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Montessori Childhood Teacher Certificate

Security: We require a criminal record check

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months 

Job Description

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
  • Establish guidelines for behaviour and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children with parents/guardians and other staff members
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
