CNC Machinist
At Absolut Granite and Stone, we love being part of the magical transformation that takes place when we install granite or quartz countertops into a home. As a family business in Kelowna, BC, Canada, we fabricate using the latest in CNC technology. We are growing and are looking to add a CNC Machinist to our work family!
This position requires a hardworking, honest and reliable individual with excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with CNC machinery. It is essential that the incumbent is confident working under pressure and has strong computer skills.
Essential Functions:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations
Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including CNC tools to perform precision
Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Requirements:
Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or combination of over four years of work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in machining
2-3 years of experience in a similar position
Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, process schematics and technical manuals
Detail oriented, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer skills
English language skills
Optional:
Experience working with granite, quartz and stone
Experience producing countertops
Full time, Permanent position
Start: ASAP
Salary: $33/hour, 40 hour work week
