Job Title: Carpenter, Framer
Compensation: starting at $27.88/ hour
Specific Skills
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Work Setting: Commercial, Residential
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Tight deadlines, Large workload, heavy loads, Overtime required, Bending, crouching, kneeling,
- Physical labour required. Mix of sitting and standing.
- Transportation and travel information: Willing to travel
- Capable of supervising 1 to 2 people
- Has tools/Equipment Hard hat
- Willing to travel at multiple job locations
