Job description:


  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Represent their company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
  • Assist with obtaining work
  • Assist with bidding and estimation on new projects where required
  • Create project schedules and start- up documents
  • Review and collaborate with Project Scheduler to ensure labour resource is sufficient
  • Create project budgets and complete take-offs where required to refine purchase orders
  • Manage and create project documents
  • Obtain and evaluate contract bids from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Work with Purchasing Coordinator to confirm best pricing for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Create and supply health and safety documents to site superintendant and/or foremen
  • Create and issue start up notices
  • Request for purchase orders

Language requirements:
English

Education requirements:
University degree or a college diploma in construction technology
Extensive experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements.


Experience requirements:
2-4 years of experience in construction industry
