Job description:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
- Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop and implement quality control programs
- Represent their company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
- Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
- Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
- Assist with obtaining work
- Assist with bidding and estimation on new projects where required
- Create project schedules and start- up documents
- Review and collaborate with Project Scheduler to ensure labour resource is sufficient
- Create project budgets and complete take-offs where required to refine purchase orders
- Manage and create project documents
- Obtain and evaluate contract bids from suppliers and subcontractors
- Work with Purchasing Coordinator to confirm best pricing for suppliers and subcontractors
- Create and supply health and safety documents to site superintendant and/or foremen
- Create and issue start up notices
- Request for purchase orders
Language requirements:
English
Education requirements:
University degree or a college diploma in construction technology
Extensive experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements.
Experience requirements:
2-4 years of experience in construction industry
