Job Overview We are currently seeking a skilled Gas Fitter to join our growing team. In this role, you will install, service, maintain, and repair gas heating units, lines, meters, regulators, and associated systems across residential, commercial, and industrial locations. You will respond to gas escape calls, work safely in confined spaces, and ensure all installations and repairs meet provincial safety standards.

- Physically demanding (lifting heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling)

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and attend gas escape/emergency calls
- Install gas heating units, components, meters, regulators, and gas piping
- Measure, mark reference points, and determine layout for gas line and equipment installations
- Service and maintain gas heating systems and components
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to select materials and plan work
- Test and adjust control mechanisms; inspect pipes and connections for leaks using gas detection equipment
- Advise clients on safety standards, features, and proper maintenance of gas systems
- Estimate materials and labour costs
- Identify and replace defective parts or equipment
Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience
- Registered Apprenticeship certificate in Gas Fitting (or equivalent experience)
- 2 to less than 3 years of relevant gas fitting experience
Required Credentials
- Valid Gas Fitter certification (Class A or Class B license issued by Technical Safety BC / SkilledTradesBC preferred; Red Seal certification considered an asset)
- First Aid Certificate
Other Requirements
- Valid British Columbia driver's licence
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Own required personal protective equipment:
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses/goggles
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
