Finance Technician

Job Location: Unit 107, 7130 120 Street, Surrey, BC V3W 3M8
Salary: $36.60 hourly
Hours: 30 to 35 per week
Language: English
Education and experience: Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field OR High School with minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Terms of employment: full time/permanent
Job Duties:
- Maintain and update financial records using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post journal entries and maintain general ledgers.
- Reconcile banks, credit cards, and other accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare trial balances and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
- Calculate and prepare payroll cheques, including statutory deductions and remittances.
- Prepare and issue cheques for expenses, utilities, taxes, and vendor payments.
- Prepare tax returns and related government filings as required.
- Compile statistical, financial, and accounting reports for management review.
