Wages:                                            $20.20/hr

Job Duties:

• Prepare soil, fields, beds, and growing areas for planting, seeding, and transplanting
• Seed vegetables in greenhouse trays or nursery beds and assist with raising seedlings for later transplanting
• Transplant seedlings and direct-seed crops in the field as required
• Water crops and assist with the installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Apply fertilizers, soil amendments, and crop protection products as directed
• Monitor crops and seedlings for growth, pests, disease, weeds, and other issues, and report concerns to the supervisor
• Perform hand weeding, hoeing, mulching, and other general crop-maintenance duties
• Harvest vegetables by hand or with harvesting tools and equipment according to farm quality standards
• Sort, grade, clean, and pack produce for storage, transport, or sale
• Clean and maintain farm tools, irrigation equipment, harvest containers, greenhouse areas, and work areas
• Assist with post-harvest field cleanup and general farm maintenance
• Follow all farm safety, food safety, and biosecurity procedures

Working Condition: Outdoors, wet/damp, rain/ shine, odours, hot/cold.
