Job description:
Duties:
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment to repair and fabricate metal components for trucks and trailers.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, repair diagrams, technical specifications, and manuals to determine welding procedures and requirements.
- Inspect and examine completed welds to ensure they meet safety standards and repair specifications for heavy-duty vehicles.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to remove damaged metal sections and prepare replacement parts.
- Use metal-forming equipment such as brakes, shears, and bending machines to shape and straighten truck parts and metal components.
- Operate pre-set welding machines to fabricate, reinforce, or repair truck frames, brackets, and other metal structures.
- Use brazing or soldering equipment to bond metal parts and fill seams, cracks, or holes in truck components.
- Start, shut down, adjust, and monitor automated or robotic welding equipment used in repair and fabrication processes.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills to understand instructions, safety procedures, and work orders.
- Work must be performed on-site at the repair shop, with no option for remote work.
- Work environment may include outdoor conditions and exposure to dust, heat, noise, odours, and dirty surroundings.
- Ability to handle heavy metal parts, tools, and equipment in a physically demanding repair environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure welding quality, safety, and repair standards are met.
- Demonstrates flexibility, reliability, and a hardworking attitude while working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Salary: $36.25 hourly / 30 hours per week
Overtime:1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
