Required Carpenter (TEER 72310)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible to fabricate custom wooden and composite molds and formwork used in the production of architectural precast concrete elements for residential construction projects which includes wall panels, window and door surrounds, trims, copings, sills, and other custom precast components.
- Reads and interprets shop drawings, sketches, and specifications for custom residential precast components.
- Measures, cuts, shapes, assembles, and finishes wood, plywood, MDF, and form liners using hand and power tools.
- Responsible to build precision formwork to meet dimensional tolerances and high cosmetic finish requirements. Forms are constructed to be structurally sound and capable of withstanding concrete placement and vibration.
- Applies and maintains fiberglass coatings, resins, and release agents on molds to improve durability and surface quality.
- Inspect molds for accuracy and quality prior to concrete casting and adjusts or repairs as required. Existing molds are repaired, modified, or rebuilt to accommodate design changes or wear.
- Maintains tools, equipment, and the workshop in safe working condition and follows all occupational health and safety procedures.
- Collaborates with precast production staff to improve mold design, efficiency, and finish quality.

Requirements and skills
Education and Experience: Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of industry courses or 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Salary: CAD $36.10/hour. Full-time permanent position at BBS Masonry Precast Design and Fabrication, 25 Roybridge Gate Vaughan, Ontario, L4H 0J2.
