Hours: 34 to 40 hours per week

SKILLS and KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 Year to less than 2 years
• Physically fit to handle the job and require a lot of Bending, kneeling, crouching, work at heights, dusty, cold and hot temperatures, tight deadlines, work under pressure, hand-eye co-ordination, repetitive tasks, Walking & standing for extended hours, able to pick up weight up to 45 kg
• Need steel-toed safety boots, hard hat and safety glasses

Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
• Ensuring all work adheres to safety regulations
