Job description:
- Drive and operate truck trailers as a team for long-haul deliveries.
- To obtain and hand over documents required to transport goods from and to the person concerned and ensure proper documentation before leaving.
- Follow Hours of Service regulations (E-Logs)
- Promptly deliver customer freight and update dispatch on ETA’s
- Plan trip logistics in advance
- Record the trip details, fuel consumption, and driven miles to match our system.
- Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks
- Perform a thorough pre-trip inspection before leaving the yard
- Perform in-route inspection after scheduled intervals to maintain road safety and Ensure cargo is secured properly by safety requirements.
- May be able to perform emergency repairs, if needed.
- To take all necessary safety precautions in a situation of breakdown of the truck at the highway like emergency lights etc.
- Maintain contact with dispatchers, Colleague drivers, and customers via on-board communication device.
- Periodically take the vehicle to the designated mechanic for a thorough check-up and promptly report any fault in the vehicle.
Job Requirements:
Completion of high school is preferred.
Class 1 Driver’s License
Experience in long-haul truck driving would count as an asset but not mandatory.
On-the-job training will be provided.
