Position Overview: AECOM Electric Ltd is seeking a skilled, dependable Electrician to join its growing team. This role is essential to supporting electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work across a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver and/or as per company’s contract and demand 

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $36.60 to $39.00 per hour

Candidates who qualify will receive relocation assistance up to $1500.00. The company will pay $1000.00 CAD as a referral incentive to any current employee who refers a candidate, and the company hires them.

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to plan wiring layouts.
• Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Pull wire through conduits and holes in walls and floors to ensure proper installation.
• Test electrical systems for loose connections, broken insulation, and isolate faults, using hand and power tools.
• Splice, join and connect wires to electrical fixtures and components with precision and care.
• Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and components to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records to ensure the ongoing functionality of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with other trades and professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Providing technical guidance and support to electrician helpers.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth operation of our electrical services.

Job requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• Completion of a 4-5-year apprenticeship program or at least 2-3 years of experience in trade.
• Trade certification would be an asset but not mandatory.
• Good communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
• Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
• Able to work well independently and within a team.
