Experience/Skills: A minimum of two to three years of experience as a Line Cook/Grill Cook in a small to medium Sports bar/Restaurant setup. Experience in menu planning, food supply monitoring, and estimating food requirements. Prepare variety of grilled and fried menu items. Braising and grilling meat and vegetables. Experience in preparing grilled food items and deep-fried items utilizing a flat top grill char broiler and deep fat frying ensuring that all the food items are served at the required temperature. Experience in using different cooking tools, equipment, and utensils. Should be able to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and moving around. Strong ability to follow recipe instructions. Basic knowledge of mathematics to make correct measurements of ingredients. Verified that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Ability to work under pressure and faced paced environment.
Good organization skills with a problem-solving attitude. Moderate written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail.
Moderate command in English language is a must, speak, read, write and listen.
Taking orders from the wait staff and preparing food according to customer preference. Making adjustments to accommodate clients with specific taste and diet. Developing recipes that comply with restaurant policy. Prepare ingredients and dishes under the guidance of a Head Chef. Prepare ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and entire dishes. Adhere to food handling and health and safety procedure. Planning menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. Setting up cook stations and stocking them with the necessary preparation and supplies. Train junior cooks and schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
