During pre-screening, supported by human oversight, to efficiently manage tasks such as resume screening and candidate matching, enabling our team to connect with qualified candidates faster.

Job Duties

  • Manage full-cycle HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance & employee relations scheduling), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with policies and legislation
  • Coordinate & support HR operations and recruitment activities, including employee file management, case administration
  • Drive end-to-end people strategies to attract, develop, and retain Canadian talent
  • Assisting the management on legal compliance issues including Employment Standards Act (federal and provincial) and Workers Compensation Act
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, discipline, and terminations mostly for highway drivers
  • Source, screen, and hire drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings and attending industry job fairs.
  • Managing human resource records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts and performance reviews
  • Ensure driver files, medical certificates, and abstract reviews are up to date and compliant with federal and provincial transportation regulations
  • Maintaining a human resources information system by tracking and reporting on employee data such as sick days, vacation days, banked overtime and hours worked, to ensure accurate, timely information can be made available to management and staff

 

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and labour relations strategies including policies, programs and procedures
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding packages, coordinate orientations and new hire training
  • Manage offboarding tasks: exit communications, equipment returns, system access removal, exit interviews, ROEs coordination with payroll for company drivers
  • Prepare and process new employee documentation, including onboarding paperwork, payroll details, and benefits enrolment
  • Support payroll administration by verifying timesheets, tracking attendance, and coordinating with payroll staff for accurate processing
  • Organize training and development sessions for employees, helping track attendance, feedback, and compliance with ongoing learning initiatives
  • Advise employers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs
  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and support employee relations matter ,mediate labour disputes and grievances and provide advice on employee and labour relations
  • Plan and administer staffing, total compensation, training and career development, employee assistance, employment equity and affirmative action programs
  • Research employee benefit and health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies

Employment requirements

  • A university degree in human resources management or a related field or completion of a professional development program in human resources administration is required
  • 4 years or more years of directly related work experience is required. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation could lower the experience requirement to 3 years
  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal transportation and employment laws and safety standards
  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral English are required
  • Excellent interpersonal & relationship building skills
  • Extremely organized, excellent coordination & collaboration skills, Superior oral and written communication skills, Strong proficiency in English
  • Ability to handle confidential material and situations with tact and discretion
  • Strong ability to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people decisions to business outcomes

Benefits

 

 

 

As per mutual agreement and BC Employment standards act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary or 10 days of annual paid vacation. Extended medical benefits are offered after completion of 90 days of employment.
