Lumber Grading Foreman

Permanent Position: Lumber Grading Foreman.

Company: Delta Cedar Sawmill LP.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend, Day, Evening, Shift.

Wage Rate: $36.60 per hr for 40 hours per week.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Business Location: 10126 River Road Delta BC V4C 2R3

Education: High School.

Experience: 2 to 3 years of work experience.

Languages: Basic Knowledge of English.

Main Duties:

Oversee the work of lumber graders and other processing workers, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.
Verify that lumber is graded accurately, meeting specifications for dimensions, defects, and grade.
Establish methods to meet production schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.
Train staff on grading procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
Ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and that necessary maintenance and repairs are carried out.
Monitor the work environment for safety hazards and enforce safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of lumber grading, production, and other relevant data.
Address any work-related issues and recommend solutions to improve productivity and quality.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Weight handling capability up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
