Job description

Ye’s Buffet is seeking a dependable and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily food service operations and support staff in delivering high‑quality meals and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and able to lead a team in a fast‑paced buffet environment.

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion, and serve food

  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for daily buffet meal preparation

  • Prepare food order summaries for the chef according to customer volume and menu requirements

  • Establish work schedules and procedures for buffet service

  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage

  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures

  • Ensure that food quality, portioning, and service meet established standards

  • May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in developing policies, procedures, and budgets

  • May assist in planning buffet menus and determining related food and labour costs

Employment requirements & Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school (required)

  • Completion of a college program in food service administration, hotel/restaurant management, or related field OR several years of experience in food preparation or food service

  • Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience in food service (buffet experience is an asset)

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards

  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain operational efficiency
