GMC Drywall strives to deliver high-quality, reliable construction services to clients with excellent customer satisfaction. Currently, we are seeking 2 full-time “Carpenters” who can join our growing team.

Position Details

Position: Carpenter

Salary: $38.50 per hour

Job Type: Full-time; Permanent

Number of Positions: 2

Expected start date: As soon as possible.

Work locations: Various locations in Surrey (BC) and other areas of Lower Mainland (BC) as per the company’s contracts with its clients.

Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, perform calculations, and prepare layouts.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, channels and other materials.
• Work on new buildings, renovations, and additions to existing wooden structures in various stages of construction.
• Construct foundations, install floor beams, subflooring, wall systems, partitions and finish surfaces of woodwork.
• Secure framing components using screws, anchors, and fastening systems to concrete, wood, or structural steel.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings and hardware components.
• Supervise other construction workers at the site.

Position Requirements

• Completion of Secondary school
• Completion of a 3–4-year apprenticeship program in a relevant trade or a Minimum of 3 years of experience in the trade is required.
• Ability to communicate in English
