Wages: $18.25 per hour for 40 hours per week

Job Duties:
- Apply fertilizers to orchard crops as instructed to support healthy growth and fruit production.
- Remove weeds, damaged fruit, and unwanted plant materials to maintain healthy orchard crops.
- Cut, trim, and harvest agricultural crops using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Separate freshly harvested fruits into marketable and non-marketable categories based on quality and condition.
- Monitor and adjust watering, sunlight exposure, and temperature conditions as instructed to support crop growth and development.
- Grade harvested fruits according to size, shape, colour, quality, and market standards.
- Mix and prepare fertilizers according to instructions for application to orchard crops.
- Pick and harvest orchard fruits by hand or using appropriate harvesting tools.
- Plant, cultivate, water, and irrigate fruit trees and other orchard crops.
- Sort harvested fruits and remove damaged, defective, or unsuitable produce.
- Prune, trim, and train fruit trees to encourage healthy growth, improve fruit quality, and increase production.
- Maintain basic daily records of completed work, harvesting activities, and crop progress.
- Clean and maintain orchard work areas, harvesting tools, and equipment.
- Apply fertilizers and spray orchard crops as directed while following established safety procedures.
- Harvest fruits and other orchard crops at the appropriate stage of maturity.
- Load, unload, carry, and transfer fruit crates, harvesting containers, farm supplies, and harvested produce.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on orchard machinery, farm tools, and equipment as instructed.
- Identify and report signs of pests, plant diseases, crop damage, and other problems affecting orchard crops.
- Inspect harvested fruits for quality, ripeness, condition, and readiness for packing or sale.
- Prune dormant fruit trees using hand tools to remove dead wood and shape the canopy.
- Repair and tighten orchard trellises, posts, and wire support systems.
- Sharpen, clean, and maintain pruning tools, harvesting equipment, and orchard machinery.
- Clear fallen branches and debris from the orchard floor to prevent pest infestations.
- Install trunk wraps and guards to protect young fruit trees from winter rodent damage.
- Monitor and maintain winter frost-protection equipment like wind machines or heaters.
- Repair and service fruit crates, wooden bins, and storage facilities.
- Apply late-season lime or compost to the soil as directed for spring preparation.
