We are currently seeking a qualified Computer Systems Engineer to work on leading edge technology and support our technician teams. The successful candidate for this position will be a part of highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on planning, design, implementation, and controls the installation and maintenance of all operating systems and hardware based on user requirements.
- Install, configure, upgrade computer operating systems, server-associated components and related hardware and systems.
- Research, analyze and assist in developing testing systems and server hardware, and ensure they meet the required capacity and reliability.
- Collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration units to ensure server and system resources are meeting business demands.
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot issues related to operating systems, storage, performance, and network.
- Manage the development, testing, deployment of verification simulations for new hardware components.
- Perform review of documentation and procedures; provide feedback regarding changes and gaps in documentation.
- Work closely with other engineering, operations, and support teams to deliver and maintain new capabilities and systems.
- Support the customer services teams to maintain and develop relationship with our clients.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical or electronics engineering, engineering physics, computer science or related fields is required.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in computer, systems, or hardware engineering is required.
- Familiar with VHDL, C, C++ and other programming languages.
- Proficient with Windows; experience with Linux will be an asset.
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills; must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to effectively work under pressure, tight deadlines, and without direct supervision.
- Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
