Compensation & Benefits

Wages: $26.45 per hour

Terms of employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Job duties

• Prepare and cook Chinese meals based on customer orders (e.g., chicken, pork, seafood, and tofu dishes, noodle & rice dishes, and other items on the menu).
• Prepare ingredients and make sure the cuisine meets the restaurant’s quality standards.
• Keep track of the food, supplies and equipment inventories and records.
• Work with specialized cooking equipment (Chinese wok and sauté pans, deep fryer, steamer, chopping block, knife for cutting vegetables and meats, etc.)
• Estimate the cost and quantity of the food needed, as well as supply needs.
• Monitor and maintain clean working and cooking area.
• Train workers in food handling, preparation, and cooking.
• Carry out additional tasks as required.

You must have

• Completion of Secondary School.
• Must have 2-3 years of cooking experience in a similar environment or completion of education in cooking/culinary.
• Commercial cooking experience in Chinese cuisine would be an asset.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Able to work well independently and within a team.
