Responsibilities

Tasks

• Develop and implement programs for children

• Ensure Children security and well-being all the time.

• Lead activities by telling/reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interestand providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, musicand physical activity

• Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems withparents and other staff members

• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports forparents, guardians or supervisor

• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits•Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community serviceproviders working with children

• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhoodeducator assistants
