Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd. is seeking to hire 20 Fish Plant Workers to start immediately.  We operate year-round with no seasonal layoffs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cut, clean and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing
• Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets and remove scrap parts using a knife
• Cut sections according to specifications and place in container for weighing
• Operate machines to process fish and seafood products
• Operate machines to package fish and seafood products
• Record production information such as quantity, weight, date and type of products packaged
• Clean work areas and equipment

Skills Requirements:

Education: No Minimum Education Requirements

Work Experience: No Experience Required

Skills Requirements: Must be able to comfortably use a sharp knife in a highly-repetitive environment; Must be able to lift 40 lbs; Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment

Job Details:

Job Title: Fish Plant Worker (NOC 94142)

Salary: $17.50/hour; After 6 months of continuous employment, employees are eligible to receive up to an additional $1.50/hour in discretionary safety and performance bonuses

Benefits: Extended Health Benefits (including Dental) available after 90 days

Hours Per Week: At least 30 hours per week

Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent
