Terms of employment: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $30.50 per hour
Work location(s): Various Locations in Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley areas in BC as per company’s contracts with its clients.
Job Responsibilities
- Determine specifications and calculate requirements based on blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Finish surface of woodwork in houses and buildings, using hand tools and paneling.
- Work on new projects, remodels, or additions to existing wooden structures.
- Build foundations, install floor beams and subflooring, build walls, and install partitions.
- Supervise other construction workers.
- Assemble and install furniture, shelves, and other items.
- Measure layouts to ensure they are accurate using measuring tools.
- Work with a variety of tools and machines, including hand tools, power tools, and machines.
- Assume the responsibility of supervising other workers at work site.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Position Requirements
- Completion of high school.
- Completion of 3-4-year apprenticeship program or at least 2 years of work experience in trade.
- Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy and Writing, Decision Making.
- Positive and cooperative attitude.
- Personal integrity and sense of responsibility.
- Hand and foot dexterity to perform activities such as lifting overhead, twisting, and bending while lifting, climbing ladders and stairs.
- Willing to travel to different location in Lower Mainland, BC.
