Position name:            Concrete Finisher

Number of vacancies: 4

Location of work:        482 Fraserview Place, Delta, BC, as well as job sites throughout the Lower Mainland

Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (30 to 40 hours per week)

Wage:                          $32.86 – $35.66 per hour (dependent on experience), with an overtime rate of $49.29 - $53.49 per hour above 40 hours per week

Vacation:                     8 % in lieu of paid vacation days

Language required:     Must be able to communicate in English

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

• Directing the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Operating vibratory screed and other tools and equipment to place, consolidate, level and smooth freshly placed concrete.
• Using hand tolls to edge, float and finish concrete slabs, stairs and other concrete structures.
• Using gas and diesel powered equipment to power trowel and machine finish concrete slabs.
• Imparting the desired concrete finish using hand tools and power tools.
• Applying hardeners and sealer to concrete surfaces.
• Repairing damages sections of concrete floors, walls and other concrete structures.

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

• No formal education is required.
• At least two years’ recent industry experience in concrete finishing on commercial, industrial and high-rise residential projects.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Attention to detail.
