Job Title: Embryologist (NOC 21110)

Job Type: Full-time / Permanent Position

Salary: $80,000 annually

Oasis is the only physician – owned private fertility clinic in western Canada and we recognize that each patient is unique. Our Clinic is located at – 410 - 23 Sunpark Dr SE, Calgary, T2X 3V1.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare embryos for research purposes.
  • Perform IVF, artificial insemination, cryopreservation of embryos and embryonic transfer.
  • Set up filters, medias and supplies used during the collection of embryos.
  • Rinse, search, wash and accurately grade embryos according to protocols.
  • Freeze embryos for storage in liquid nitrogen.
  • Monitor and fill nitrogen storage tanks when needed.
  • Perform oocyte searching and evaluation for IVF.
  • Monitor and record temperatures and other appropriate information.
  • Maintain, clean and label collection vessels.
  • Maintain embryo inventories.
  • Complete documentation of pertinent information
  • Reorder supplies when needed.
  • Participate in new product creation by serving as a consultant.
  • Perform quality control of embryology media.
  • Maintaining thorough, accurate records relating to research or observations.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • 1 year to less than 2 years in a related role.
  • Patients oriented attitude.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of biology, chemistry, and laboratory equipment and procedures.
  • Good Communication skills
