Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance to clients with varying health needs in accordance with their care plan and individual needs.
- Monitor and document clients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with meal planning, preparation, and feeding, taking into consideration their dietary restrictions and preferences, and promote healthy eating habits.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations, providing reassurance, and offering comfort during times of distress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members, such as nurses, doctors, and occupational therapists, to implement and modify care plans based on clients' changing needs and conditions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients, including regular cleaning and sanitization of their living spaces, and promptly addressing any safety hazards or concerns.
- Assist clients with rehabilitation exercises and mobility aids, such as walkers or wheelchairs, to improve their physical functioning and independence.
- Provide support and education to clients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care strategies, and encourage their active participation in their own care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of Secondary School education is required.
- Minimum 6 months’ previous experience in personal support, caregiving or related fields, and/or completion of a traning program in the fields.
- Strong oral communication skills in English.
- Perfer to have CPR and First Aid certified or willing to become certified.
- Must be reliable, client-focused, organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
