Job description:
Located in Niagara-on-the-lake WILLOW CAKES & PASTRIES is currently looking for a talented baker to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, muffins, scones etc.
- Bake mixed dough and batters
- Decorating and displaying finished products
- Operate machinery
- Decorate cakes and pastries
- Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls
- Keeping records relating to deliveries, inventory, and production levels.
- Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
- Draw up a production schedule to determine the type and quantity of goods to produce
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Maintaining a safe, secure, legal, and healthy work environment, fostering a spirit of teamwork and unit among co-workers
Required Education & Experience;
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience as a baker
- Completion of a high school diploma is mandatory.
- Completion of a Baking Arts course is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- English language knowledge is required;
- Must be available to work early mornings starting 5:30 am and weekends
- Must own a vehicle as there is no public transportation available
- Ability to multitask and work effectively
- Self-disciplined, eager to learn, and have a passion for the food and service industry
Pay Rate/ Salary: CAD$19.8/h
44 hours per week
