As per our clients’ preferences, we will deliver the services, no matter whether they want to recycle, reuse or donate the junks. We are currently looking for 3 energetic, experienced and efficient Delivery Drivers to join our team to serve our logistics department in a safe and timely manner. This is a permanent full time position reporting directly to the Logistics Manager.

Job Summary:

Delivery Drivers are responsible for Delivery (transporting goods and materials), Moving, and Junk Removal in a safe and timely manner.  They will work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing respective duties. 

 

Job Description and Duties:

  • Operate and drive trucks/vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner for pickup and delivery services
  • Complete pre/post checks on vehicles used and report any issues
  • Plan delivery travel schedules and service routes.
  • Record mileage, fuel costs and other expenses
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Provide excellent customer service through the delivery and pickup
  • Safely and properly load, unload and move goods and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment
  • Safely transport and handle dangerous goods
  • Conduct routine truck inspections
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 

Wages:  $18.88 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations 

Benefits Package: 

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis 

Location of Work: 1285 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 3X8 Canada

Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is an asset
  • One year of commercial driving experience
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Must be able to communicate in English

  • Sitting for extended periods
  • Willing to travel overnight, cross-border and for extended periods 

Additional Skills and Other Requirements: 

  • Thorough knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic laws
  • Must have own transportation
  • General knowledge to maintain vehicles and solve minor problems is helpful
  • Must know how to drive manual transmission vehicles
  • Understanding of geographical locations and able to read a map/ use other trip planning aids
  • Be able to lift and move heavy items up to 45 kg (100 lbs.)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and Judgement
  • Must be a team player, reliable and organized
  • Must be available for all hours of operations and shifts including overtime and weekend work as required
