Job Description

Reliance Logistics Inc. is a full-service freight business that has been running and offering a full spectrum of services since 2008. We are an asset-based company headquartered in Surrey, BC. We currently have an employment opportunity for a permanent, full time Truck Trailer Mechanics.

Job Duties

Service, diagnose, repair, maintain, update, and clean company equipment pre and post trip

Perform preventive maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers, use various hand tools and machinery to repair problems trailers, welding on trailers

Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems

Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems

Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, brake change, lubrications and tune ups

Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications

Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor or management to determine whether to repair or replace unit

Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools

Complete reports to record problems and work performed

Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments

Eligibility requirements

Completion of Secondary school is required. Vocational training or program is an asset to have but not mandatory

3-5 years of work experience or 4-year truck and transport mechanic or truck-trailer repair apprenticeship is required

Basic English to communicate with company drivers, suppliers, and management is required

Trade certification for truck and transport mechanic will be an asset to have, but not mandatory

Class 1 driver’s license will be an asset to have, but not mandatory

Benefits

As per mutual agreement and BC Employment standards act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary or 10 days of annual paid vacation. As per company policy extended medical and dental benefits are offered.
