We will provide the following:
- Minimum of 37.50 hours/ week throughout your employment period
- Paid Vacation of 2 Weeks each year or 4% of salary
- Salary: C$ 16.25 per hour
Duties
- Prepares and serves meals and snacks by performing duties such as planning food preparation and cooking schedules, cooking items through methods such as roasting, grilling and baking etc
- Performs a variety of inventory control duties such as storing and rotating food and supplies
- Ensuring cleaning is performed throughout shift such as cleaning kitchen, storage areas and food preparation equipment through methods such as: sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning sinks and counters, walls, ovens and freezers and removing garbage.
- Contributes to daily, holiday, and theme menus in collaboration with the Manager
- Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
- Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
- Assists in recruiting and hiring kitchen workers
- Assists with orienting new employees to their work area
- Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and, health & safety at all times
- Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary School education is required
- Minimum of seven months of work experience as a Cook is required
- Ability to legally work in Canada
