Position Description

Position: Farm Worker

Type of employment: Full-time - Permanent; Year-round work

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $16.75 per hour

If needed, we offer housing for $30 per week. We'll also cover your relocation costs and private health insurance until you're enrolled in the provincial health plan. Additionally, we provide daily transport from your accommodation to the farm.

Job Responsibilities

• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
• Harvest crops by hand or with the use of machinery.
• Prepare the crops for shipment by packing and grading them.
• Clean up racks, trays, and harvest bins and general clean up of packing areas.
• Pruning and thinning, weeding, repairing drip lines, and applying sawdust as needed.
• Make use of basic farming tools, maintain them, and store them properly after each use.
• Examine produce for quality and prepare for market.
• Unload, load, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm products.
• Other farm-related duties as required.

Job Requirements

• No experience is required; we will train.
• Ability to work long hours, early morning, and weekends.
• Ability to work in various work environments such as wet, damp, dust and cold etc.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which may be physically demanding.
• No education and language requirements.
