Job description:
Location: Mississauga, ON L5N 1V9
Salary: $33.00 hourly
35 hours per week
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
Job Type: Permanent employment, Full time
Job Responsibilities:
- Creating visually appealing and user-friendly website layouts.
- Designing graphics, icons, and other visual elements for websites.
- Developing responsive designs that work well on different devices and screen sizes.
- Collaborating with clients or stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Translating design concepts into actual website interfaces using HTML, CSS, and sometimes JavaScript.
- Optimizing websites for speed, performance, and search engine optimization (SEO).
- Conducting usability testing and incorporating user feedback to improve the design.
- Staying updated with the latest design trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborating with other team members, such as developers and content creators, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Occasionally providing ongoing website maintenance and updates
Eligibility Requirements:
- ACEGEP/ college degree in fields such as web design, graphic design, computer science, or a related discipline. Relevant certifications or specialized training courses can also be beneficial.
- Proficiency in HTML, C++, Java, VB Script, Angular.js, and JavaScript is essential. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web development frameworks can also be advantageous.
- A strong sense of design aesthetics, creativity, and attention to detail are essential for creating visually appealing and engaging websites. Understanding the principles of color theory, typography, and layout design is valuable.
- Experience of 2 to 3 years in designing responsive websites that adapt well to different devices and screen sizes is highly desirable. Understanding mobile design principles and optimizing for mobile users is important.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for effective collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Understanding and interpreting client requirements and providing design solutions is valuable.
