Role Description
- Ensuring precise and current financial documentation, encompassing records of transactions, acquisitions, sales, receipts, and disbursements.
- Posting financial data to the general ledger and reconciling accounts regularly.
- Processing and recording invoices, verifying expenses, and managing payments to vendors and suppliers.
- Issuing invoices to customers, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Reconciling and ensuring bank statements align with financial records, resolving discrepancies, and tracking bank transactions.
- Calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely payroll processing.
- Preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assisting with tax preparation and providing necessary documentation to accountants or tax authorities.
- Entering financial data into accounting software accurately and efficiently.
- Monitoring expenses, categorizing them appropriately, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Assisting in the creation and monitoring of budgets, comparing actual performance to budgeted figures.
- Assisting with basic financial analysis and reporting on financial trends.
- Organizing and maintaining financial records, receipts, and documents in an organized manner.
Role Eligibility
- A secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent is typically the minimum educational requirement.
- Previous experience of 1 to 2 years in bookkeeping or a related financial role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Tax Prep, or other similar platforms, is desired.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are crucial for bookkeepers to accurately record financial transactions.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills are important for interacting with clients, vendors, and other team members.
- One must be organized and able to manage multiple financial records and transactions.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, financial statements, and general ledger entries is essential.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets, word processing software, and other basic computer applications is necessary.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial in handling bookkeeping responsibilities efficiently.
