Bear Country Inn Ltd., also known as Bear Country Inn, is located in the heart of downtown Terrace. We strive to provide a luxurious experience at an affordable price, catering to both business and leisure travelers with newly refurbished rooms. Our hotel boasts 57 rooms with convenient outdoor entrances, ensuring easy access for our guests. Additionally, we offer free parking services, on-site restaurants, cable TV, fast wireless internet, and a meeting room. Currently, we are looking for a qualified Cook in order to create a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your attention to detail will result in delicious meals and a culinary journey for the many people who eat at our restaurant.

Job Title: Cook

Wage: $18.75 - $20.75 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 2

Benefit: 4% vacation pay or 10 business days of paid vacation & free meals

Working Location: 4702 Lakelse Ave, Terrace, B.C., V8G 1R6

Job Duties:

• Plan, prepare and cook menu items from the menu;
• Supervise and train kitchen staff and monitor their work performance;
• Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and coordinate the shift schedule of kitchen staff;
• Clean and sanitize the work area;
• Participate in menu planning and portioning of the dish, and provide garnishment;
• Ensure food quality meets the standard of Bear Country Inn;
• Monitor and manage inventory of food ingredients, supplies, and equipment and place an order in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required;
• Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks, OR completion of college or other programs in cooking or food safety, OR several years of commercial cooking experience may be required;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a great team player;
• Working knowledge of English.
